How to ApplyJob duties: Gain experience and entry into the dynamic community development field through summer placements in Bay Area nonprofits as a LISC AmeriCorps summer intern. The duties vary depending on the AmeriCorps position, but most of them involve a great deal of outreach and interaction with the community in which each respective organization is located. They fall into the following general categories: Community and Economic Development; Affordable Housing Development; and Youth Development. Job qualifications: The required skills and abilities vary depending on the position, but generally we are looking for someone who is self-directed, a quick learner and who is interested in getting into the community development field. Several positions list a preference for someone who is bilingual Cantonese-English, and for others it is helpful to have language ability in Spanish, Tagalog or Vietnamese.
