Operating Cost Database
Bay Area LISC and the National Equity Fund are pleased to share the sixth annual Operating Cost Database, which includes operating data from over 18,500 affordable housing units throughout the Bay Area.
Overall, expenses increased about 3% over the prior year, and expenses in Alameda, Contra Costa and San Francisco changed less than that. Perhaps the most interesting information in this year's data is the increase in particular sub-categories of operating expenses. If you look at the Three Year Trends in Per Unit Per Year Operating Expenses for instance, you will find substantial increases each year in Gas, Water & Sewer, and Trash Removal.
